Week #17- December 8, 2025

As we return from fall break, we’re excited to welcome our students back and jump into the next part of our school year together. This past week marked the 67th day of school, and as many of you may already know, that’s a popular number.  We are celebrating by launching our Schoolwide Reading Challenge! We encourage all students to spend time reading at home and at school as we work to build strong habits and a love of books. Thank you, families, for supporting your child’s reading journey; let’s make this a fun and successful challenge!

The letter sent home Wednesday, December 3 explaining the reading challenge can be found here. Students should return reading logs (colored slips) every Tuesday or Wednesday (6-7 days) to be entered into drawings for prizes.

If your family is in need of reading materials or math flash cards, please don’t hesitate to reach out; we’re happy to help make sure every child has the tools they need to succeed!  Please email Mr. Kirk at kkirk@rockingham.k12.va.us or Mr. Baker at dbaker@rockingham.k12.va.us if you need materials.

Also, if you would like to volunteer in the school, let us know!
