MES Family Update- Week #5
Onward!
We are already in the middle of September! Wow! This week, we will highlight the House Day system, and our first attendance challenge of the year.
House Days
At MES, every student is placed into one of four houses; Eagle, Mountain, River, and Red Oak; each house is made up of a mix of K-5 students to help build a sense of school community. Throughout the year, we hold four House Days, with houses rotating through different activities so that every house gets to experience all four by year's end.
We've included a slideshow introducing the houses, along with a link to WHSV's 2025 feature on the MES House Day system for more information. House Days are always exciting; students build community, get to know one another, and connect with peers across grade levels. We can't wait for our first House Day in October!
Attendance Challenge
We're also kicking off our first Attendance Challenge on Monday, September 14th! It runs for 15 days, through October 2nd, and students who attend school all 15 days will be eligible for a prize. Thank you for making attending school a priority and partnering with us to make every day count!

2026-2027 MES Student/Parent Handbook- Certain sections, particularly those including new policies or information, will be highlighted in upcoming family updates.
Reminder, when visiting for lunch:
Outside food-1 student may join, please do not share food for safety reasons
No outside food- 2 students may join
MES Car-Riders Morning Drop off and After School Curbside Pick-up
Please review the information if your child will be dropped off or picked up this year.
The first MES House Day is scheduled for October 22. MES will purchase a house t-shirt for all new students, and staff, to have for this special day. For returning students, those who already have a house shirt, there is an opportunity to purchase a new t-shirt for 8$ (slightly below cost). If you want to purchase a House Day replacement shirt, please complete this FORM. Payment will be collected once we have the shirts at MES. September 17 is the deadline to order a new shirt. Thanks to those who have already submitted orders.
